Voters See Urgent Need to Protect Water Amid Threats from Climate Change

March 21, 2022
National poll shows 8 in 10 believe action is needed now on solutions that safeguard rivers and oceans

The survey showed heightened concern about the impact of water scarcity on farmers and ranchers, the economy and public health. The poll also found strong support for natural infrastructure solutions to address climate change, including restoring wetlands, protecting groundwater supplies and using floodplains to reduce flooding.

The Morning Consult survey was conducted ahead of World Water Day 2022 and commissioned by the Walton Family Foundation to learn more about the public’s understanding of water and climate.
