In October 2024, Caleb Offley – a treasured colleague, visionary strategist and beloved friend – passed away peacefully at his home. Caleb was a senior leader in the Walton Family Foundation’s Education Program for more than a decade. His impact and legacy will live on through our work for years, if not decades, to come.

Those of us who had the privilege of working closely with Caleb will remember his wisdom, humor and unrelenting commitment to our values and our mission. His energy for our work – and for taking it to the next level – was seemingly unending. Caleb changed the course of countless projects, grants and organizations. We will cherish the moments when Caleb changed our thinking.

In these last few years, Caleb especially loved connecting with students. He loved hearing their stories and sharing his own – about growing up in Hawaii, navigating choices and experiences and eventually finding his purpose working in education. In rooms full of important people, it was conversations and connections with youth that mattered to him most.
