Jared Romero is a program officer in the Environment Program at the Walton Family Foundation focused on the Colorado River. Jared Romero is a 5th generation Coloradoan from the San Luis Valley.
Prior to joining the foundation, Jared worked at the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership as the director of strategic partnerships. He led efforts to thoughtfully engage underserved and underrepresented communities and elevate their voices in support of conservation, hunting and angling.
Jared also served as an educator and administrator spearheading the development of a One Health education and research program at Boise State University.
Jared received his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and his M.S. in applied natural science from Colorado State University, Pueblo, and B.S in cell and molecular biology from Adams State University.
