To align grantees' fishery standard work with those of Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Standards and the Marine Stewardship Council's Fishery Standard; support three fisheries in Mexico in gaining Fair Trade Certification and continuing to meet standard requirements as they increase in performance over time
To strengthen and expand grantee's sustainability standard that can be applied to any fishery and build demand for certified products by demonstrating the impact of certification and the economic value it provides
To improve the accessibility of the MSC standard; release a revised standard with closer alignment to other standard-setting organizations; and support fisheries in Chile, Mexico, Peru and Indonesia in moving through the MSC system from pre-assessment through annual audits for certified fisheries
To strengthen and expand grantee's sustainability standard that can be applied to any fishery - including the type of small-scale, multi-species fisheries that are common within the foundation's core geographies - and build demand for certified products by demonstrating the impact of certification and the economic value it provides
To test and tailor the FishPath fisheries management decision-making tool for use in data-limited fisheries seeking long-term sustainability as defined through the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standard.
