New research funded by the Walton Family Foundation reveals how parents believe that federal stimulus resources can best help their communities and children. The nationwide poll of 2,700 parents was conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw and Company April 2-11, 2021.
The poll revealed widespread support among parents for the massive infusion in federal education funding included in the stimulus plans. Parents attach a high degree of importance to transparency about how this money will be spent and measuring its impact on student performance.
The majority of parents see the influx of federal dollars as an opportunity to make “bold changes” in education policy. This comes as 4 in 10 parents say they are “very concerned” about COVID learning loss.
