For the second year in a row, the Walton Family Foundation partnered with Gallup to conduct the Student Report Card survey. More than 2,000 students aged 12 to 19 graded their schools in 11 key areas related to their individual learning experience, school experience and career preparation.
America’s schools are averaging just a 2.60 grade point average (GPA), the equivalent of a B-. According to the students surveyed, schools continue to fall short in several categories, including making students excited about learning and preparing students to succeed in their future careers. By listening to the perspectives of students and seeking bold, innovative solutions, schools can raise their grade and deliver an education that propels students forward.
